Projects funded includeclinics, master classes, seminars, educational workshops to prepare forcertification examinations, community outreach projects and projectspromoting interaction between local associations and collegiatechapters, area colleges or other musical or arts organizations. Applications and guidelines for the 2008 grant program will beavailable September 4, 2007. The deadline for receiving completedapplications will be February 1, 2008. Recipients will be announced atthe 2008 MTNA National Conference in Denver, Colorado, in March and willreceive funds no later than May 1. MTNA Teacher Enrichment Grant Recipients Sixteen teachers received grants this year from the MTNA FOUNDATIONFUND. A total of $13,725 was awarded to recipients to help fundcontinuing education and professional development projects. Thenumber of grants awarded in any year is determined by the number ofqualified applicants and available funds. Grant applications and guidelines for 2008 will be availableSeptember 4, 2007. Applications are due in the MTNA nationalheadquarters office postmarked no later than January 10, 2008, and grantrecipients will be announced at the 2008 MTNA National Conference inDenver, Colorado, in March. Funds are distributed no later than May 1. State Affiliate Grant Awarded One State Affiliate Matching Grants was awarded in 2007. Thesegrants are awarded to state affiliates to enhance professional andeducation development of its members, as well as creating innovativeprograms that will promote and enhance music, music education and musictechnology through the state. The state affiliate receiving a grant is the Pennsylvania MusicTeachers Association.
