Exemplary administrators honored at ASBO's annual meeting. LARRY WILLIAMS, ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT FOR facilities andconstruction in the Lewisville (Texas)Independent School District,received the Pinnacle of Excellence Award at the annual meeting of theAssociation of School Business Officials International (ASBO ASBOBrit antisocial behaviour order ) in Chicagoin October. He was honored for spearheading a project to make hisdepartment's work more efficient and more cost-effective. Itincluded the initiation of the "classroom blitz," in whichevery 60 days each of the district's 4,000 classrooms is inspected.Williams (third from right) was joined by the four winners of thePinnacle of Achievement Award: Patrick C. Collins, director of businessoperations at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School (AVRTHS) is a vocational school located in the city of Marlborough, Massachusetts. School NameAbout 4 years ago, Assabet Valley voted to change the name of the school to its current name, Assabet Valley Regional Technical inMarlborough, Mass.; Joel Sloggett, chief administrative officer A chief administrative officer (CAO) is responsible for administrative management of private, public or governmental corporations. The CAO is one of the highest ranking members of an organization, managing daily operations and usually reporting directly to the chief executive ofStudent Transportation Services of Central Ontario in Peterborough,Ontario; and Nita R. Mensia-Joseph, director of operations forPortsmouth (Va.) Public Schools. Also present were two representativesfrom furniture and equipment maker Virco, which co-sponsored the awardwith ASBO: Toni Bock (far left), director of community relations, andLarry Wonder (far right), vice president of sales.
