Foundation Fund Awards grants.

Foundation Fund Awards grants. Teacher Enrichment Grant Recipients Sixteen teachers received grants this year from the MTNA FOUNDATIONFUND. A total of $13,150 was awarded to recipients to help fundcontinuing education and professional development projects. Thisyear's grants were awarded to:Donna Baddeley, NCTM Bronwen GodfreyJoni Benson Rebecca HedmanHanna Brinker Adrienne JohnsonChristine Danielewicz Bonnie MacPhailSue Ellen Dubbert Andrea Marks, NCTMHeather Stayton Forbes Laura MasonMarti Garrett Beverly PoyerdMichelle Gelinske Heather Streuber Teacher Enrichment Grants may be used for private study,college-level course work or special projects in performance, pedagogy,music theory and composition. The grant is not intended to be used topursue course work toward a degree, for travel funds or for ongoingprojects. However, a grant may be approved for one additional year atthe discretion of the Teacher Enrichment Evaluation Committee. Thenumber of grants awarded in any year is determined by the number ofqualified applicants and available funds. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] Affiliate Grant Recipients Nine local and state affiliates received grants from the MTNAFOUNDATION FUND: Chicago Area MTA Colorado State MTA Heber Valley (UT) MTA Lincoln County District (OR) MTA Lynden (WA) MTA Moscow (ID) Chapter MTA Northern Kentucky MTA South King County (WA) MTA Tualatin Valley District (OR) MTA The MTNA FOUNDATION FUND awards grants to MTNA-affiliated state andlocal associations for projects that provide educational opportunitiesfor students and teachers. Grants are also given for projects thatsupport the promotion of music in the immediate community. Applications and guidelines for the 2012 teacher enrichment andaffiliate grant programs will be available in September. The deadlinefor receiving completed applications will be January 9, 2012.
